LIST OF COMPASSIONATE CLUBS IN TORONTO

This is the link to
Health
Canada Medical Marihuana Access Regulations (MMAR). It is the official
website of Health Canada. Please feel free to read it yourself.
If you apply, you can receive (as example)
a permit allowing you to possess, consume and cultivate cannabis
in your residence. Typical exemptee is allowed to smoke 1 to 8 grams per
day and cultivate between 1 to 50 plants. To date in Canada there is over
1100 people with permit to possess and may be 300 people with permits to
cultivate their own cannabis.
Note 1: Health Canada does
not make it easy to apply. Please read carefully and feel free to ask me
any questions. All forms must be fill in legibly and carefully. They are
not at all difficult, but you must fill all applicable tables and provide
all the signatures. or you get rejected.
Note 2: The
organization that provides malpractice insurance to Canadian physicians is
telling doctors they should not prescribe medical marijuana
unless patients sign a
release-of-liability waiver.
This is the form. Print it and sign it. I hope this make the doctor
feel better :-)
Class I - Documents required to be
signed by a family doctor.
If you suffer from the following conditions, you can
apply to Health Canada for legal possession and cultivation of pot.
Medical Condition:
Multiple Sclerosis; Spinal Cord Injury; or Spinal Cord
Disease, Severe pain, persistent muscle spasms. Cancer; or AIDS, HIV
Infection, cachexia, anorexia, weight loss, severe nausea, Severe
Arthritis, Epilepsy, Seizures OR Applicants who suffer from a
symptom treated within the context of providing compassionate end of life
care.
You need
these documents and a signature from a family
doctor. Most people with the above Medical Conditions have little problems
getting their family doctor to sign application form. You will need the
paperwork as well as 2 passport photographs. One of those photographs has
to have your doctors signature on the back. This is to authenticate the
photograph.
Class II - Documents required to be
signed by a specialist.
If you
suffer from any other conditions which cannabis is beneficial you
have to obtain a signature from a specialist doctor.
Health
Canada rules require that your family doctor contacts
a specialist in the field of your illness and have
him/her co-sign on the application form.
This
can theoretically be done over the phone by your family doctor. The
truth is that no family doctor will sign the application to Health
Canada because no specialist will agree to diagnose someone he does
not know, over the phone. I tried this with multiple doctors and
they all refused.
I
consulted with a few specialists and they explained to me that in
order to diagnose anyone they need to see the patient. To
diagnose anyone over the phone is unethical. How can a
specialist say that patient A should use cannabis when he has never
met this patient in person.
This
leaves you the option to find a specialist yourself. First ask
your family doctor for a referral, be honest with him as to why you
need cannabis and explain the application process. He will most
likely decline the option to sign the documents but he will refer
you to a specialist who will sign the documents him/her self.
If a specialist signs your forms
you do not need a family doctor to co-sign the application forms
anymore. Health Canada website does not make that very clear. This
means that your specialist is now your primary doctor.
When
seeing a specialist, do not try to explain your entire life history.
Any doctor has may be 10 to 20 minutes to briefly evaluate you. This
is the reality of OHIP, doctors are busy to make a buck and they see
100s of people daily. Tell them how pot helps you and what kind of
relieve you get. Tell him you became aware of the Health Canada
applications and are sick and tired of getting your weed off the
streets.
You
still have
to get these forms
Example:
If you
suffer from Crohn's Disease or Stomach problems.
You
need to contact a Specialist in Gastronomy -
Print this article about Gastroenterology study which can add to
your credibility that cannabis helps with Crohn's disease. This
study can be found
here but you need subscription. see
also this
website which can help you in your application.
If you suffer from Depression, Anxiety, or Mental
Disorders.
You need to contact a Specialist in Psychiatry -
See this new
article which provides evidence to your claim that cannabis helps you
with your illness. See details
here. Contact me for
help or questions.
LAST OPTION:
If you can not find a doctor or a
specialist to sign Health Canada applications,
you can still join any number of
compassionate clubs in Toronto.
To join a compassionate club in Toronto you need to
download this
form (as an example for Cannabis
Common, delivery service, most other clubs have a similar form) and have
you family doctor sign it. You need a separate form for each compassionate
club. List of compassionate clubs are listed here and everywhere on this
site.
The form is simple and straightforward. The doctor
confirms that you suffer from an illness. The doctor also confirms your
name and address. The club will contact the
doctors office and confirm that the form is valid.
There is
4 compassionate clubs with an office in the downtown
core of Toronto and 1 club making deliveries only. The pot is clean
and organically grown. The clubs can also help you grow your own cannabis
since weed is expensive.
It is unbelievable how extensive the compassionate
network is compared to the miserable help Health Canada "tries" to provide.
Please feel free to
contact us if you need help with any of the
above information.
